It is time for an update on life in the burgeoning city of Colfax. When we see excitement, we usually lay down beside it and take a nap.
The last big moment in Colfax was the installation of the new twenty-five-watt lightbulb down at the post office. That unveiling was the pinnacle of existence until work began on a roundabout. Colfax has existed with only four four-way stops and not a single stoplight.
Now in a moment of clarity and vision, we have a completed roundabout and can continue life without a stoplight. Not having an electric traffic light puts Colfax behind, (or ahead,) of most cities in the world. And, yes, the City of Colfax, population 2000, is one of six incorporated cities in Placer County, some with many traffic signals. When it comes to progress and electric traffic lights, I choose Colfax.
