Opening Pages contains a great lesson about agents and openings learned at a writing conference. But today, I happened upon a TicTok “Book Tok” video that slammed the message home. In “Convincing You to Read Books Based off their First Line,” this young, prolific reader reads five opening sentences. Each opening made me think, “Why can’t I do that?”
