Seven months and ten days after Members of the Cast was published, it may be time for evaluation. So, I give you some statistics:

I sell a book every 1.2 days.

24.4 Kindle Unlimited pages have been read per day. (which equals another 20.5 books)

I have sold 3 library copies

I have given 6 book talks and have one scheduled for later in the month.

Members of the Cast has 37 Amazon ratings, 22 of them written.

Is Members of the Cast successful? I have no idea, because self-published authors may not be as “transparent” as I am. (Transparent! In these times, I am on the cutting edge of social blather.)

Was Members of the Cast worth it? Yes. The questions and comments about the book during the book club talk last week were astute, with considerable depth. Two said they were going to reread the book. Written reviews are positive.

I conclude with excerpts from written reviews:

-will leave you with a renewed faith in humanity.

-felt like I was stepping into the past What a delightful read!

-torn between obeying her parents, or following her heart

-beautiful and engaging

– A clean book to give to everyone from teenagers to oldsters, both of whom will recognize and/or remember so many of Maggie’s feelings and experiences. Give us more!

– will have a permanent place in my library.

– a wonderful coming of age (sic) story.

– If you enjoy historical fiction, clean romance, and a great setting, you’ll love this story.

– has been a real delight to travel back to 1950’s high school days

– author took time to make this sweet “coming of age” (sic) story feel very real

– I appreciated that the story was told without foul language or violence.

– ‘Members of the Cast’ is a lovely story about the family you are born into and the family that grows around you.

– the perfect book to relax with.

– The story is full of rich characters and nostalgia that make it a pleasant world to fall into.

– This was the first fiction book I have read all the way through since the birth of my son (6 years ago!!) that wasn’t written for a tiny human. Thoroughly enjoyed it! Was invested in the characters and so sad when the book was done.

– Best book I’ve read in forever. It’s so… nonviolent and heartwarming and interesting and refreshing and IT MADE ME FEEL GOOD FEELINGS. 😅

– Your book is a piece of art. I totally enjoyed it. Looking forward to reading more stories written by you.

I spent my life teaching 6th graders. We have always been involved in church. Now I spend my days in an old stone house, wandering our four acres, and writing.
