We met Whitney Tate when she moved to a new school near Pasadena, California. She was miserable. She mourned the loss of her father and missed her friend Joanie. She was teased about her bra size and longed to have a boyfriend who liked her for herself.
A single phone call, four years later, changed her life. Her father had been murdered. This moment fills her with a determination she never felt before. Now a beautiful young woman, Whitney agrees to do ads for Hollywood English Motors.
But it is in Ohio that Whitney comes into her own, conning her way into the lives of those who may have answers to her father’s death. At the office, in a blonde wig, she inches closer to the killer. Whitney and Retta join Joanie in a series of fun, nerve-wracking cons and impersonations.
