After I “Went Wide,” letting Draft2Digital (D2D) distribute my book, I checked Barnes & Noble (Nook) to see if Members of the Cast was listed. It was in both print and ePub. I have to compliment D2D on how quickly they populate booksellers with my title.

I ordered a paperback copy as a quality check. It looks good, but I was surprised that the book format looked exactly like the original Kindle Direct Publishing (KDP) paperback. Small changes in the title page and my Haikui formatting were not there. I checked the final file I submitted to D2D, and it was the latest version.

I wrote to D2D, wondering why the Nook print copy did not reflect my latest formatting. D2D answered within the day, saying, D2D only sends eBooks to the various vendors. Duh: Draft2Digital.

This begs the question, where did Barnes & Noble get the paper copy? D2D helped with that question as well. B&S gets the paper version from KDP! It is part of all the distributions listed in all the text we wade through when setting up our KDP book. So, there you have it. If you offer print copies of your books through KDP, they are probably listed with B&S.

It takes several days for KDP to update a book, and the formatting has not changed at this time. I will be watching for the changes to appear.

Unfortunately, B&S does not offer a look inside for their print books, so I will never know if the print version has been upgraded unless I buy another book. Or you could buy one after it is corrected on KDP and give me a report. Grin.

I spent my life teaching 6th graders. We have always been involved in church. Now I spend my days in an old stone house, wandering our four acres, and writing.
